When using tubing to hold the main line or protect the sides of the fish, it's essential that the tube doesn't slide up the line during the fight, otherwise your main line could lift scales, causing damage to the fish. The lead clip tubing ensures that the tube cannot slide along the line. A side opening allows you to fit a funnel-shaped sleeve onto the main line and into the tube. When this opening is replaced, the locking function keeps the swivel and the tube in place, preventing the tube from coming loose from the clip. The precisely fitted rubber sleeve allows the lead to detach from the clip in case of an obstacle, but unlike other clips, the tube won't move.
