The ice axe North-X is an ergonomic and versatile tool with a head and a pick, perfect for technical activities in mountaineering, climbing on steep mixed terrain and ice, or crossing glaciers. This ice axe stands out with its special handrest, easily adjustable by a sliding motion. When you stick the axe into the snow, the handrest slides up to help you save energy and climb faster. If you move on steep rocks or ice, it locks in place once pushed in to provide maximum support. Plus, the elastic safety strap integrated into the handrest allows for quick and secure placement during self-belay. The hot-forged steel head and the 20° off-centre 7075 aluminium shaft ensure perfectly balanced rotation movements and safe, precise placements on all types of rock and ice. The synthetic insulated grip offers effective protection against the cold - a nice quality during long expeditions. For added safety during descents, the ice axe North-X features an interchangeable steel bottom tip instead of a point, providing better grip on rocks and ice.
