Backing up with peace of mind
When paired with your GPS, the BC 30 wireless rearview camera helps you easily spot vehicles, pedestrians, animals, or any other hard-to-see obstacles. If the camera is connected to your backup lights, your navigator can automatically display the camera's video feed when the vehicle is in reverse, and switch back to navigation mode when the vehicle is in forward gear.
Simply view what you need
You can also connect the system to a continuous power supply (so the camera is not connected to the reversing lights) to switch from navigation display mode to reversing display mode at the touch of a button. The transmitter then sends the camera's video feed to your navigator's receiver, which can be installed up to 10 metres (33 feet) away. Range may vary depending on installation: some vehicles require the use of an extension cord for power, sold separately.
Professional installation recommended
For installation, Garmin recommends that you take your BC 30 to your dealer. However, if you are a do-it-yourselfer, you can also do the installation yourself. You'll need to mount the camera on the back of your vehicle and connect it to a power source, such as the backup lights. The BC 30 is strong enough to withstand the most extreme weather conditions. You can use up to 4 cameras simultaneously in one system, so that you can have multiple viewing angles.
